In one of my design courses, I set out to merge two things I’ve always loved: print design and gaming culture. The result was Girls n’ Games - a zine that spotlights the powerful, creative presence of women in gaming. What started as a class project quickly became one of my most personal and rewarding creations. It’s a personal project that challenges the stereotype that gaming is a “boys’ thing” - honoring the creativity, innovation, and impact of women in gaming.
Inspired by retro game aesthetics, I built a visual system using bold, nostalgic typography, pixel-style graphics, and a pastel-meets-pop color palette. The goal was to balance playfulness and power — making each page feel energetic and intentionally designed.

Girls n’ Games still stands as one of my favorite and most personal projects. Over the years, I’ve received a lot of love and admiration for my celebration of women in gaming. The zine’s bold visuals and playful layouts helped amplify voices that are often overlooked, creating something that felt both nostalgic and fresh. Its design invited readers to engage, reflect, and see themselves represented in gaming culture, leaving a lasting impression that continues to resonate with the community.
