In one of my design classes, I got the chance to mix two of my favorite things: print design and gaming. The result? Girls n' Games — a zine that celebrates the badass women who’ve helped shape the gaming world. This project is super close to my heart, and honestly, it’s one of those things I’ll always be ridiculously proud of.
Growing up, gaming always seemed like a “boys’ thing,” but women have been there since day one, creating, innovating, and absolutely crushing it. I wanted Girls n' Games to highlight those stories, because they deserve to be seen and celebrated.
For the design, I leaned hard into those nostalgic, early-gaming vibes. Think retro fonts, bold illustrations, and graphics that give a little nod to the classics. The color palette? A mix of soft pastels and playful pops — a fun, unapologetic shout-out to girlhood and gaming.
I made sure the layout keeps things fun and easy to explore, because zines are meant to be experienced. Every page is packed with energy, stories, and visuals that cheer on the creativity and resilience of women in gaming.
At the end of the day, Girls n' Games is my way of saying: women belong here, we’ve always belonged here, and we’re only getting started.
