Being Coffee Roasters began as a college experiment, sparked by three friends with a shared love of coffee and a bit of chemistry. Born in Madison, Wisconsin, they’ve grown their passion project into a brand all about authenticity, community, and great coffee.
As they prepared to move online, Being Coffee needed a fresh identity that would capture the soul of their story and resonate with coffee lovers near and far. They wanted visuals that felt as welcoming and honest as their coffee—a brand that balanced warmth with a modern edge.
I leaned into their roots, blending nostalgia with a contemporary feel. The rebrand started with a clean, versatile logo set that echoes their journey, from shared dorm-room brews to becoming seasoned roasters. I crafted a style guide to keep every touchpoint consistent and memorable, defining their color palette, typography, and iconography to reflect the approachable yet refined essence of their coffee. From there, I created a series of social media posts and website layouts to establish Being Coffee’s online presence. For social media, I kept the visuals warm and relatable, capturing the spirit of coffee as part of daily rituals. The website design prioritized a straightforward, inviting experience—ensuring that visitors would feel the same warmth online as they would in person.
My work laid the foundation for Being Coffee Roasters to connect with their community on a larger scale, introducing their online audience to the same friendly, grounded experience that first inspired their brand.
